The NDTV Indian of the Year awards is one of the country’s most prestigious, meant to honour all those Indians who helped build Brand India through their outstanding contributions.
The big guns of cinema and politics were present at the NDTV Indian of the Year awards 2010 function including actors Super Star Rajinikanth, Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan, Trisha and politicians Home Minister P Chidambaram and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Earlier all Rajinikanth’s fans were eagerly awaiting to know whether their matinee idol will receive the prestigious Indian of the Year award for 2010 after his name was nominated for the Indian of the Year & Entertainer of the Year Award in NDTV yearly award functions. Now the fans and the Tamil film industry is ecstatic over the winning of Entertainer of the Decade Award by the SuperStar.
“So far Robot is my best film. I didn’t expect the film’s success will be this much big,”said Rajinikanth.
Minister P Chidambaram who presented the award to Rajinikanth said, “He could have entered politics in 1996 where he had a huge opportunity. He can still sweep the election”.
Trisha who won the Souther Star of the Year, while asking about Super Star said, “What makes us special is, we both are from the South and that too from the Tamil film industry is the greatest honour”
