Ravishing beauty Deepika Padukone, who is reckoned among the top-rated stars in Bollywood, seems to be eyeing the South now. And for a star who intends to establish her stardom in South Indian Cinema, what would be a better way than starring opposite South Indian Super Star Rajinikanth.
The doe-eyed beauty seems to know this simple truth and hence agreed to play the leading lady opposite Rajinikanth for his next film ‘Rana.’
Earlier (on 25 January), it was reported that Deepika was in a dilemma due to shot of dates. But, the actress seems not to lose this big opportunity and has signed for the film.
‘Rana’ will feature Rajinikanth in a triple role. It will be directed by K S Ravi Kumar who did super hit films like ‘Muthu’ and ‘Narasimha’ with Rajini in the past. The film is expected to go on to sets in the month of March. It will be co-produced by Eros International and Ocher Studios, the production house run by Soundarya Rajinikanth (daughter of Rajikanth).
Academy Award Winner AR Rahman will score music while Ratnavelu the cinematographer who worked for ‘Robot/Endhrian’ will handle camera. The film will be made in three languages – Telugu, Tamil and Hindi simultaneouslly and is scheduled for release early in 2012.
