A.R Rahman Shocked Because Of Ismail Darbar

Ismail Darbar who is a Bollywood music composer made many allegations against A.R Rahman while speaking to the media in Nagpur. He said, “ I have a feeling that A.R Rahman has paid money to get the Oscar Awards for the film Slumdog Millionaire. If A.R Rahman has real talent, he should have got the Oscar Awards for the film Roja or Bombay. I know that he has purchased these awards.”

When asked Ismail Darbar if he has got any proof for his statement, he was not able to give a fitting reply. Bollywood people condemned and lambasted Ismail for his irresponsible fabricated statement.

Bollywood music composer Lalith Pandit while commenting about this said, “ A.R Rahman is a person who brought name and fame to India by winning the Oscar Awards. It is not right to speak bad about him.”

When asked A.R Rahman about this allegation, he said, “ Nobody can purchase Oscar Awards. Three thousand people vote for this award. How is it possible to buy this award.

Is Aravaan Shelved?

Director Vasanth Balan’s Aravaan the period drama is said to be halted due to some financial reasons.

The director and the producer had mutually agreed to make the film in a relaxed pace to make the film in a perfect manner. Director Vasanth Balan has set a time frame of at least a year and a half more, to shoot the film after completing the shoot for a year. Meanwhile the producer is left with no money and even the financiers also backed off. Currently the half finished project requires a financier or producer to take over the project. For now, the film is shelved due to lack of sufficient funds.

Aravaan features Aadhi, Pasupathy, Archana Kavi and Dhansika in the lead roles.
The film is based on the life in South India during the eighteenth century.
We sincerely hope that Aravaan gets its required funds to complete the rest of the shoot.

Karthi Saguni Needs New Heroine

Kollywood young rising star Karthi who is soon entering wed-lock is currently switching all his energies for his forthcoming film Saguni.

Saguni is a political satire film directed by debutant director Shankar Dayal. It was earlier known that Shriya Saran is playing the female lead opposite Karthi but now it is known that the director is on the look-out for a brand new face, as heroine, apart from which she should be fluent in Tamil as the character is designed in such a manner. The hunt is almost on the heels of completion and an official announcement will be made soon.
Karthi is going to be back with comedian Santhanam to create the laughter magic yet again on screen after Siruthai.
Meanwhile Karthi is seen busy with his mobile during the breaks in shoot as he engages himself in conversations with his fiancé, Ranjani.

Mankatha Hit The Big Screen On July 2011

Mankatha, the eagerly awaited film of Ajith is all set to complete its shoot by May 31. The team is currently stationed at Hyderabad and will be wrapping up the final schedule over there.

After returning from Hyderabad, director Venkat Prabhu will get busy in doing some graphics and post production work which will reportedly run for a month. According to this plan the producers of the film are looking forward to release the film during July second week. Thala will be hitting his 50th film with Mankatha while Trisha hits 40th film in her career.
The basic plot of Mankatha runs on gambling but the entire film doesn’t revolve on cricket betting as it deals about all sorts of gambling.
Mankatha directed by Venkat and produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine, has an ensemble star cast which includes Trisha, Arjun, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali, Premji, Ashwin, Vaibhav, Mahat and others.

S A Chandrasekar Elected As New Chief President

An emergency executive committee meeting of Tamil Film Producers Council convened in Chennai on Sunday decided to hold the general council meeting on July 3 to decide on conducting elections to the Council.

Last week, president of the TFPC Rama Narayanan resigned from his post following which S A Chandrasekar was elected as the new chief. However, a section of office-bearers opposed this move.

Following this, the emergency executive meeting was covenened on Sunday where it was decided to hold the general council meet on July 3. It was also decided to form a five-member committee led by KRG to take care of some important issues.

The Sunday meeting also passed a resolution greeting AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa for becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the third time. It also conveyed wishes to Vijayakanth, Sarathkumar and others from the tinsel town who were elected to the Assembly.

Ganja Karuppu Starrer in ‘Mannaar Valaiguda’

He was one of the heroes in ‘Arai Enn 305il Kadavul’. Going a step ahead, Ganja Karuppu is now the only protagonist of ‘Mannaar Valaiguda’, a comedy caper to be directed by Dhanasekaran.

“It is an out and out hilarious film and only because of this I accepted to play the lead role. The character suits me well and I hope the audience too would feel the same,” says the comedian.

Dhanasekaran is a former associate of Madesh. Bengaluru-based model Yoga will play the heroine in ‘Mannaar Valaiguda’, which will be produced under Lakshaya Productions banner.

Snehan will take care of the lyrics, while cinematography is by N Venkat. S Sivaprakasam will compose music. The film will be shot in and around Chennai and will hit the screens soon.

Kamal’s ‘Viswaroopam’ Once Again Denied!

We had earlier told you that Selvaraghavan’s forthcoming ‘Viswaroopam’ failed to get their visas through for shooting in America. Following which, the team chose to shoot in Canada but looks like the visas for the team has been denied again!

Sources close to the crew suggest this may be due to the plot of the movie that might be based on cannibalism. Sources add that the movie is inspired from ‘The silence of lambs’ and its sequel, ‘Hannibal.’
Since the movie is a trilingual, in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, Kamal had suggested Selva to work with Shankar-Eshaan-Loy for scoring the music as the trio are the leading music directors up North.
Now the latest news abuzz is that, the team is traveling to London for a period of 35 days where the duet sequences between Kamal Hassan and Sonakshi Sinha and romance scenes between the duo will be shot.
While the crew is busy over their next schedule, Sonakshi is all smiles about the shoot since this would help her do away with the rumours that are spreading like wildfire about her all over Bollywood

Sarath Kumar’s Upcoming Project ‘Kaval Thurai.’

Simbu’s ‘Vanam’ that was released recently was quite a hit at the box-office and was one big anthology flick this year with five stories intertwined together through the concept of money and five characters coming together for a climax. Similarly, ‘Kaval Thurai’ will have three plots intertwined together.

Aishwariya Rai Ready To Give Up For ‘Heroine’

Well Bollywood is buzzing with stories that the lead lady of Bollywood, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan will go nude for the Madhur Bhandarkar project ‘Heroine’. The ex-miss world announced that she would be playing the lead in Bandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ while she was at Cannes.

The director who had earlier thought of roping in Kareena Kapoor seems to have changed his mind. He has also revealed that he has re-touched the script for ‘Heroine’ to suit the Bachchan bahu. There are reports running rife that the top actress would strip for a scene in the film. Though she was initially reluctant to shed her clothes, she later consented to it because the script demanded it, say sources.

Aishwarya has already done a semi nude film in Bengali which was later released in Tamil as ‘Dasi.’

The film ‘Heroine’ deals with the life of a top heroine in the industry and the extent to which actresses go to bag roles and fame. Bandarkar who created an impact in Bollywood with his true-to-life portrayal of ‘Fashion’ and ‘Page 3’ is adept in showcasing the lifestyles of the posh crowd in the country.

Harris Jayaraj Not Roped In Vikram Starrer ‘Karikalan’

The ace music director who gave us some great numbers in K.V. Anand’s ‘Ko’ is busy in Bangalore at the moment. He is working the final touches for the remake of the Gautham Menon film ‘Khakka Khakka’ in Hindi titled ‘Force.’ The film stars John Abraham Genelia in the lead and is directed by Nishikanth Kamath. Sources close to the music composer reveal that he is recording the final song for the film.

Meanwhile, the music director revealed that he has not been roped in to do the music for the Vikram starrer ‘Karikalan’ which is believed to be a contemporary film with a dash of period drama. The film sees Zarine Khan pairing up with Vikram, there by making her debut in Tamil. She earlier shared screen space with Salman Khan for the period film ‘Veer’ in Hindi.

Harris Jayaraj will also be working on the music for an untitled Telugu film, come August. The film will be directed by Selaraghavan and will have Allu Aravind and Shruthi Haasan playing the lead. Also the director is composing music for the upcoming Suriya Sivakumar flick ‘7am Arivu’ which is touted to be a sci-fi thriller.

‘Rana’ Never Call Off Said Director K.S.Ravikumar

For all you millions of Superstar Rajinikanth fans out there, here’s some happy news! Director KS Ravikumar spoke to the media, and stated to the glee of many that his forthcoming project with Superstar Rajinikanth, ‘Rana’ being shelved is completely false.

Superstar is hospitalized from May 13 that has worried many and also led many disturbing rumours about the star’s conditions. There were talks about his forthcoming project; ‘Rana’ has been dropped due to the stars condition.

Director KS Ravikumar formally announced to media that this news about the movie being dropped is completely false. He said, “It is natural for people to fall ill and as our leading star is now not so well, we feel unpleasant about these rumours confirming the film being dropped. ‘Rana’ is Superstar Rajini Sir’s dream project and his brainchild and hence he is very much keen on undertaking it and completing it successfully.”

It is also said that the lead actress, Deepika Padukone’s dates are free only after July and the project will go on floors after that. Superstar’s health issues have only caused a minor glitch in the shooting plans but Rajini will be doing the project once he recovers fully.

The movie will be releasing the following year, in 2012.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister spoke to Superstar Rajinikanth's wife Latha

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa today spoke to Superstar Rajinikanth's wife Latha and enquired about the health condition of the actor, who was being treated at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre at Porur.

According to an official press release, Jayalalithaa spoke to Latha over phone and enquired about the actor's health condition. Latha explained to the Chief Minister in detail, the nature of treatment being given to him.

Jayalalithaa told Latha that she was praying to the Almighty for the speedy recovery of the actor, who was admitted to the hospital since May 13 for respiratory and gastro-intestinal problems.

The release also added that soon after the AIADMK emerged triumphant in the Assembly elections, Rajinikanth had sent a letter to Jayalalithaa greeting her for her party's massive victory in the elections.

Following this, Jayalalitha had sent a reply letter to the actor thanking him for greeting her and wishing him speedy recovery, the release added.

Rama Narayanan Quits His Position

The political change in Tamil Nadu is making its impact felt in Tamil cinema. And it was visible within hours after the counting trends predicted a landslide triumph for the main opposition AIADMK.

The Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, who became one of the most influential men in Kollywood after the DMK captured power in 2006, has chosen to quit as the president of the association.

In a letter released to the media, Rama Narayanan said, “Since I am starting work for a new film which needs more time and also due to my personal commitments, I have decided to resign from the post of the president of Tamil Film Producers Council.”

The producer-director thanked the members of the Tamil Film Producers Council, The Film Directors Association, the South Indian Artistes Association and FEFSI among others, for their co-operation.

Rajinikanth was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of St. Isabel Hospital in Chennai on Wednesday. This time he was admitted due to  some breathing Problem.According to sources, Rajini complained of breathing difficulty and dehydration and fever. Earlier on last week he admitted in hospital and  discharged from hospital  on Saturday.

Kamal Haasan Confirm “Traffic” Remake

Latest we hear is that Kamal Haasan has confirmed that he would certainly star in the remake of Traffic. Kamal Haasan has recently graced the 100-day celebration of the Malayalam version and has spoke to the media regarding this project. He showered praises on director Rajesh Pillai for the way he narrated the story. It is also known that the Hindi version is also being planned simultaneously along with the Tamil version.

Kamal says “I seriously got impressed with the script and can’t wait to star in the film. The same crew will be working for the Tamil version and I will be producing the Tamil version of Traffic”.

‘Pudukotailirundhu Saravanan’ Aparna Wedding Bell On June 29th 2011

Aparna became a star acting in films like ‘Pudukotailirundhu Saravanan’ pairing opposite Dhanush and in ‘ABCD,’ a mulitstarrer which also had Sneha and Shaam in the lead roles. The young actress also is a member of a team which heads an educational institution.

Aparna will marry Bharani, a doctor by profession, on June 29th. The wedding will be held at Srivari Wedding Hall, Vanagaram. Mr. Bharani is the son of Mr. Kannappan, the owner of Sundar Theatre located in Poonamallee. The families have planned for an engagement ceremony too which will be held at a star hotel in the city on June 8th.

Katrina Kaif Inspired By French Movie

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is inspired by a French film so much that the actress had decided to turn producer and remake the film for Bollywood. Rumours of the actress casting her sister Isabel in the film were also afoot. However, Katrina herself broke her silence and later revealed that she wanted to buy the remake rights of the 2006 French movie Priceless. And after months of going back and forth, the deal as of today, stands canceled.

The people in question simply stopped reverting to the Bollywood actress. “It was ridiculous. Katrina is an A-list actress in Bollywood. They should have dealt with the proceedings very tactfully,” revealed a source close to Katrina. Tired of the unprofessional behavior, Katrina too, has eventually given up on her French dream, added a source. However, this setback has not managed to squash Katrina’s dream of turning producer. “She is very much open to other films. She is quite a film buff and sees a lot of foreign films. Who knows, she might even pick up a Hindi film and remake it,” informed the source.

‘Avan Ivan’ Get U/A Certificate

Director Bala’s forthcoming movie ‘Avan Ivan’ has now received an official green signal as the movie has earned a clean ‘UA certificate’ by the censor board. As we have already mentioned the movie will be a first comedy entertainer by Director Bala, featuring Vishal and Arya in the lead roles. Janani Iyer and Madhu Shalini play the ladies in love with the protagonists and performance by Vishal, as Walter Vanangamudi is eagerly awaited by all… The tunes that are scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja are quite unusual compared to his regular ones and are already chartbusters…

The movie is produced by Kalpathi S Agoram’s AGS Entertainment, who were also initially supposed to produce ‘Engeyum Kadhal.’ The movie was later shifted hands to Sun Pictures and will hit the screens this Friday, May 6. ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ has received a ‘U certificate’ by the censor board and will be a rom-com, where the hero is against love and the heroine dreams of nothing but love. AGS Entertainment also opened its second multiplex in the city, at OMR that boasts off 4 screens. Looks like the production house is all geared up to entertain Kollywood movie fans in every way!

Deepika Padukone Dream Come True

Recently, when Team ‘Rana’ met the press, Deepika Padukone revealed that she had not even dreamt of acting with the Superstar of South Indian cinema when she was approached by KS Ravikumar to play Rajinikanth’s lady love in ‘Rana’. She told that its not a dream come true, as she had never dreamt of it and that she is super excited to make her debutant movie in Tamil opposite Superstar Rajinikanth.

While speaking to the press the actress also revealed that she has watched only ‘Robot’ by the superstar and was impressed by performance!

‘Rana’ is a period film set in the seventeenth century where Deepika plays a typical South-Indian beauty the lead role’s love. All her costumes for the flick have been designed by ace designer Neeta Lulla. Neeta Lulla had also designed costumes for Bollywood period films like ‘Devdas’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar,’ incidentally, even those movies featured Aishwarya Rai in the lead role!

Mani Ratnam Project Ponniyin Selvan Put On Hold

It is also heard that the filmmakers have also informed Vijay, Mahesh Babu, Arya, and Anushka to de-freeze, their dates given for Ponniyin Selvan. The reason behind the project being shelved is that, Madras Talkies have approached UTV, Sun Pictures and Eros for seeking fund for this mega budget film but the talks with them gone vain as nothing seems to have come out of it. The film will cost more than Rs 100Cr and so Madras Talkies are in search of big corporate production house for funds.

Currently there is no official confirmation on whether Ponniyin Selvan is dropped or not. But snoopy sources that there are 50:50 chances for the project to happen. Since Mani Ratnam didn’t make any official announcement regarding this project so any clarification of the project being shelved is not required.
Ponniyin Selvan is Mani Ratnam’s pet project so it can be noted here that he will not give up easily. At present Mani is on a vacation to abroad and once he is back in India, he will be taking the final call.

Actress Tamannah Demand Rs.1.25 Crore For Lip Lock

The combo of director KS Ravi Kumar and Kamal Haasan has given many films like Avvai Shanmugi, Panja Thanthiram, Dasavadharam and Manmadhan Ambu, now latest we hear is that the director is in plans to direct a full length comedy film once again with Universal Star Kamal Haasan.

Coming to heroine, the director felt that Tamannah will be the perfect match for Kamal and he approached her for call sheets. In Kamal’s films it’s routine to have Lip locking scenes, keeping this in mind Tamannah asked the director whether there were any Lip locking scenes. K S Ravikumar replied “Off course yes and it may not limit to one if the story line demands. The actress was initially timid of doing kissing scenes but she accepted the offer finally with a demand of Rs. 1.25 crore as her remuneration.
The director and producer under went a shock over the demand made by the Sindhi girl.
