Rajinikanth (12 December 1950) is an Indian film actor, media personality, and cultural icon.His real name Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. He made his debut as an actor in the National Film Award-winning motion picture Apoorva Raagangal(1975), directed by K. Balachander, whom the actor considers his mentor.
He became the highest paid actor in Asia after being paid Rs.26 crore (US$5.9 million) for his role in Sivaji (2007) compare to Jackie Chan.
